Today, you will be authenticating your passwords, creating your Google accounts, and taking a tour of both Google Drive and the brand new Google Classroom. Google Classroom is designed to be a one stop shop for everything for our class. Whether it is video clips I want you to view, project instructions you need to have, DBQ documents you need to view, or simply homework assignments and/or study guides for quizzes and tests, Google Classroom will allow you to have your own individual digital copies of everything that we do in class. Google Classroom also gives you the opportunity to complete assignments online, turn them in to me online, and view grades for your assignments online.
To see instructions on the activities we will be doing today, click the following link to access the Google Presentation you will need: Google Classroom Setup Presentation
When you have completed all instructions for the presentation, I will have you access both your Fox C6 GMail and Google Drive accounts. Just like you will for Google Classroom and your WiFi, you will sign in to these using your district username and your newly created password. Access Google Drive and GMail using the following links:
Google Drive: http://drive.google.com
GMail: http://mail.google.com
Google Classroom: http://classroom.google.com
Take the time to tour Google Drive, GMail, and Google Classroom. We will be using all three of these significantly this year, and if used properly all three of these tools should dramatically improve your organization and time management, and will give you access to all of the resources you will need to succeed in class this year.
